Was there nothing on the horizon of your job front? The 2020 year of the Rat is going to change that!

2020 is going to be a great challenge for you Aquarius. You're going to be tested in some fashion, whether officially or not, and your superiors are going to keep a close eye on the results. Think of it as a standardized test for adults. Just like any kid taking a standardized test, in 2020 it would a very good idea, Aquarius, to do some studying and make sure you're prepared. You don't just need to learn the content (the Essentials of your job, etc), but also how to pace yourself through a test. That's the work that's ahead of you.

January 2020 is when your training should begin. What form will that take? Start with a detailed inventory of what it is you want from a job, real or imagined. This part of the 2020 year is your time to figure out what your job goals are going to be. Because right after you make that list, make a plan for how you're going to achieve them. This should be finished by the end of the month. February is when you start doing your sprints: picking specific tasks based on your lists and putting them to work at work.

That's a lot of personal work, but what you really want to do is test your mettle around people who make employment decisions. March and April 2020 are when you want to put yourself in front of bosses or prospective employers to show you've got the goods. This is the time to set up a performance review, hopefully, one that has a raise and/or promotion attached to it. Think of March and April 2020 as your first test-taking days. The direction of the rest of your year will depend on how it goes. You might fly high with new responsibilities or regroup and try the test again. There's nothing wrong with the latter option. You're in the process of learning and growing and that's to be expected.

Guess what you need to do this summer? It's back to school time for you, Aquarius. It may seem backwards to put your testing before your schooling, but that's just the way the stars have it. Maybe there's some training you could use outside of work. Or maybe you'd like to start training for some other career that's out there. May is when you're going to find some training to head you in whatever direction makes sense for you. This could be a college course, or an online course, or even meeting with a sort of mentor in your off-hours. Whatever form it takes, it's all in the service of education and raising your abilities. Keep at this throughout summer 2020 (and ideally beyond). You'll really want to pace yourself during this time, balancing work and school (and, you know, life). Don't overdo it and ask for help if you need it.

By the time the last quarter of 2020 rolls around, it's another good time to put yourself in front of some decision-makers. If that raise didn't come through before, time to set up another review. If you did level up earlier in the 2020 year, talk to your superiors about what your next steps could be. You've got a good pattern of leveling up and learning behind you and you don't want to break it. Show them you're capable of great things.
