Movies have a rich tradition of the stoic hero with the rich past. Whether it's Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, or Mad Max, they saunter into a troubled situation, becoming reminded of where they came from, and somehow manage to be a hero for the people around them who need them. Sound familiar? It's the classic Capricorn mode. You've made a lifestyle out of stoicism and we're not going to try and talk you out of it. But the time has come to put that inward reflection to use. "But", we hear you say collectively, "I spend lots of time reflecting. Isn't it time for some serious action?" Well hear us out, Capricorn, for you have a year ahead with a lot of quiet, low key, but powerful actions to do. Gather around the campfire.

Just like the old gunslinger who has hung up his gun because he's seen a bit too much killing, it's time for you, Capricorn, to sit still for a bit and reflect. You've dealt with enough turmoil this past year. Make this year your peaceful interlude. Maybe it's even time to studying some meditation (in fact, we've decided it is. Study meditation this year.). Maybe it's time to take a peaceful trip that doesn't involve running around like a crazy tourist (in fact, we've decided this too. Do it.). Maybe just make sure you carve out some вЂyou' time this year where you sit still and don't let the world bother you. You know what we've decided here. Just do it.

We want you to think of the first half of the year as your health and career time. We're not saying you're going to pay attention to these things to the exclusion of other things, but if you need to focus your thinking on a couple of areas just so you have some direction, your health and your job are the places with which to do that. Why is this? It's always good to pay attention to those things, but you have a good cosmic excuse this year. So this is a big year for Jupiter and the Zodiac and specifically for you, Capricorn, it's located right in your health and work until at least June of 2020. What does this mean for you? Plenty. Let's start with your career.

A bit of pragmatism is always good for your job. And you're a pragmatist even if you don't know it, Capricorn. Even at those moments when you've felt like you were disorganized and chaotic, at your heart you were sensible and pragmatic. We're not saying that you're a stick in the mud or anything like that. We're just saying you stay grounded more than you realize and that's okay. In fact, it's a very good thing. So as you're looking at your career in the first half of 2020, we want you to remember that you've been and will continue to be a pragmatist. That means before you make any bold decisions involving your job, take a moment and really analyze the pros and cons as well as your motivation. It can be on any scale: maybe you're thinking about quitting, or asking for a raise or promotion, or maybe you just want to switch your desk with someone else. Whatever you're wrestling with, ask: what's going to happen if I do this. And maybe more importantly: why do I want this? That last question is the big one for you. That's the specter of Jupiter lingering over you and it's one of the most important questions you can answer: why do I want this? You may find that the answer is simple: you don't. That's okay. In fact, it's a very good piece of information for you to know. But let's say we're dealing with things that you do in fact want Dear Capricorn. This is the time for you to look at what it's going to mean to get that thing. Reflect, plan, and take the time to figure that out. This is your year for doing that.

You've never been reckless when it comes to your health, Capricorn, and this year that's paying off for you in huge dividends. You're going to need every bit of energy and vigor you have to push through life's challenges. You've got two big forces in the night sky that you'll need to contend with, though. No prize for you if you guessed it's Jupiter and Saturn. They're affecting everyone everywhere and you're no exception. You see, during the first quarter of the year, Saturn is going to do its best to pull you down. Most likely it'll be nothing serious, but this will be when seasonal colds and flu would hit. Fight them as best as you can, Capricorn, whether with getting to a doctor, bundling up, or just drinking lots of orange juice. Get through all of that and then in the second quarter, you'll have the support of Jupiter, propping you up and putting some pep in your step. This should carry you through for the rest of the year (but of course, keep staying healthy and getting to a doctor. We just mean you have the largest planet in the solar system in your corner).

All this talk of pragmatism and we haven't even mentioned money yet. What should you be doing with it? Is there any more coming in? Hold tight, Capricorn. This isn't like you. And yet, it makes sense you'd be getting antsy about finances. You've always been the person friends go to for advice on money (and maybe loans as well). If you haven't picked up on it yet, we'll tell you: you're a pragmatist with your dollars, Capricorn, and if that's working for you, then keep it up. There's no need to rock the boat and throw your money into a crazy investment scheme. But (and it's a big but), if you come across an opportunity that makes perfect sense to you, that doesn't seem like a sure thing but does feel foolish to avoid, well by all means invest. You've got Jupiter in your corner this year and while that planet doesn't have deep pockets, it does support thoughtful decisions. Trust yourself and your instincts, Capricorn. You're not looking to get rich quick, but you also recognize a smart place to put your money when you see one.

There's another planetary body that will have a strong and positive effect on you in a specific area: love. The presence of Venus bodes very well for you this year, Capricorn, but you have to be ready for it. This doesn't mean going out aggressively pursuing the target of your affections. You need to make yourself a radio receiver, tuning in all those cosmic transmissions. Please don't take this to mean that you need to wear a tinfoil hat at all times. It's nothing as extreme as that. But the universe, through the local planetary bodies, is going to be sharing wisdom with you and you need to be ready to receive it.

You are the stoic hero, Capricorn, and have been for a very long time. If that's been working for you then, by all means, keep at it, wearing your cowboy hat and squinting at the horizon. Channel your inner Gary Cooper. But while you're sitting on that wooden porch, gazing at the cattle, you need to make sure you're listening. Not just to the coyotes, though. You need to listen to what the universe is trying to tell you. If you can't hear anything just yet, that's okay. Sit still in a quiet place. Unplug from your electronics.
