It is not your usual tendency to read something like the 2020 horoscope that is so centered on you, Goat. You are usually inclined to brush aside praise or anything that casts a spotlight on you. But here you are and a good thing, too. This is an excellent time for you to pay a little more attention to yourself and to accept every compliment and bit of praise that comes your way. But it's important that you do so in the correct way. And what is that correct way, you may ask? Read on, Goat.

The 2020 year of the Rat is the year when the stars will be casting their light directly on you like a mid-afternoon sunbeam. You will have the opportunity to be a star this year but not in ways that you'd expect. And don't expect to sit back and have the attention come to you. In every area of your life, you will need to find your light, as they say in the theater world. This is going to require some self-examination and analysis on your part. And you're going to need to start that process right from January 1st, 2020.

The beginning of the 2020 is the perfect time for you to get your ducks in a row. If this is typically a slower time at your job, take the time to organize your work and showcase your achievements from the past year in something like a portfolio. You're going to want to have that on hand for all of 2020. If doing something like this feels very uncomfortable, double down on it. This is new territory for you and it's somewhere you've needed to go for a while. If you're the sort of person who hasn't had a problem when it comes to showcasing your work achievements, you need to start presenting your work to other people. Is there a group or person that you're in awe of? That's your target. It's time to aim a little higher than you have been up until this point in your life.

This is going to extend into your romantic life as well. February 2020 is the perfect time for presenting yourself, and not just because of Valentine's day. There are a number of celestial events that will be shining their light force on you during this time, all affecting the way currently romantic partners and/or prospective ones will see you. While this can and should certainly pertain to superficial ways you can show yourself off (get yourself something nice to wear, get yourself a long-delayed haircut), this is also the time to tout your positive qualities to others. You don't have to adopt a boastful tone, but starting in February you are no longer allowed to put yourself down. You're better than that, Goat. Whenever you are talking to a current or prospective romantic partner, you are boldly and clearly going to say what your positive qualities are, as if they are facts (because they are). Look for an encounter with one such potential partner (or just a flattering admirer) around the 18th.

March and April 2020 are when this early showcasing you'll be doing will start to really pay off. If you've been at it for the first part of the year, this spring will be the time when people you didn't expect at all will start paying attention to you. This could take the form of an out of the blue job offer from a stranger. Or maybe it'll be a friend of a friend who shares interests with you wanting to make a connection. Or something that you can't even fathom yet. The important thing for you to remember, Goat, is that you need to keep your eyes open. Starting with the first week of March, make sure you're available to anyone who is looking for you. That doesn't mean you have to open yourself to anyone tugging on your sleeve, but don't spend your spring looking down at your phone. Pay attention and keep your chin up. If by the third week of March no one has flagged you down, it's time for you to stick your neck out a little farther. Start contacting people at jobs you'd love to have. Go to those events that interest you and talk to people. Take an acquaintance out for coffee. You've already done a lot of legwork. This is the time to put it to use.

All of this might be a little more effort and potential stress than you're used to, Goat, and that's okay. June 2020 is the time to take a moment and assess how this whole process is going for you. In fact, the best thing you could do at this time is to schedule a long postponed doctor's appointment. Assess where you are mentally and get the body checked out as well. Mid-June is also the perfect time to assess your financial health. With the possibility of a new job on the horizon, you want to make sure you're in a good spot for any sort of life transition, good or bad. In fact, after you make that doctor's appointment, call up a financial planner. If that sounds a little too rich for your blood (it's not. You're worth it), make an appointment at your bank to talk to someone about your money. You've spent a lot of time not thinking you're worth a lot based on a bank statement and that needs to stop. Acknowledge that you're worth it and get on the financial track you want to be on. Keep your eyes open for a possible - albeit small - financial windfall in late June. It's yours but you'll have to keep your eyes open for it.

There are a number of projects and ideas you've had floating around in your head for a while, but you've put them off for a number of reasons. Maybe you thought they weren't financially viable. Or maybe you doubted your skills and abilities. Or maybe you just thought "well other people can do that, but certainly not me!". The first half of 2020 is all about putting yourself out there. Starting with the beginning of the second half, this is where you put those ideas out there. Is there a business idea you've been sitting on? Been wanting to write a screenplay? Just want to sell some wares on Etsy? Don't hide these things from the world. You are depriving everyone of fantastic gifts if you do. This 2020 year has been about building up the habits of self-promotion and self-confidence, and habits don't stop. You're going to keep putting yourself out there into 2021. The big difference, though, is that it will start getting a lot easier for you. Do take stock of where you are and what you've accomplished by around the last week of November. You need to have a realistic sense of what you still need to do (and more importantly, what you want to do) before you press on. Draw up a plan for yourself on December 1st and roughly map out the next few months.
