Chinese 2020 Horoscope for the Zodiac sign Tiger, for the 2020 White Metal RAT Year
The 2020 year of the Rat for the Tiger (for those born in the following years: 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)
Although we often think of tigers as fierce warriors, don't forget that they are very large house cats. That means you'll see a tiger basking in the sun as much you'll see it pouncing on prey. Even the strongest of warriors need to rest and reflect. This is a good description of your coming 2020 year, Tiger. You will no doubt have moments during 2020 of fighting enemies and capturing prey, but your primary mission is to rest and reflect. This does not mean passively laying about like the previously mentioned house cat, but rather, taking moments for recharging to prepare yourself for the challenges ahead.
Like a tiger spying a mouse, the appearance of the 2020 White Metal Rat that ushers in this new year will have your attention. You could attack that Rat like you attack anything that comes into your view. But this year you should watch that rat and focus. It's not your prey. It's your thinking icon, the moving object you should focus on to help center your brain and sort out what you want and need. Whenever you are overwhelmed with choices this year, or everything feels like a bit too much (and those moments will certainly come in 2020), think about that rat.
You're coming off of a very intense year, Tiger. January 2020 is the perfect time to stop for a moment and begin your period of reflection. A better way to put it is: January is when you take the bench after playing a very rough quarter (in the sport of your choice). You'll have the ability to do that for the first couple of weeks of January, even though there will be challenges that seem like it will be worth engaging in. Avoid them and keep sitting calmly. These will manifest themselves in all sorts of areas: your job, your friendships, everything. Come the middle of January, though, get your helmet back on and be ready to get back on the field.
Game on in February 2020! The clock starts then so get ready to rush the field in that first week. You're not attacking opponents in the usual sense, though. For this game, your opposing team is every challenge you've been avoiding in your life. February is a perfect time - in every area of your life - to face the hard stuff you've been putting off. Have a house project that's been looming for years? Need to have "that talk" with a friend or loved one? Time to buckle down and ask your boss for a raise? This is the month for it. The moon is in your corner in an unusual way in February, Tiger. Let it have your back while you face some tough work.
And in the wake of those challenges confronted, you may find some unexpected interpersonal developments bob up to the surface in March 2020. Maybe it's because you'll be head down doing the hard work in your life, or maybe it's because of Venus' activity during this time, but either way, you're going to have people coming to you that you didn't expect. Look to your family to reach out to you in ways they haven't before. If you're currently single (and possibly even if you're not), someone is going to make a first, subtle overture to you. It's up to you as to how you want to respond to that, but more importantly, take notice of it and bask in your pride a little, Tiger. Nothing wrong with feeling flattered. Then convert that flattery into confidence in what you're doing and run with it.
Mother Nature will be throwing some obstacles at you in April 2020. Some of these will be on the micro-level, like small scale health scares. Don't panic. It will serve you well to get ahead of her and make that doctor's appointment earlier in the year. Be a little more proactive than you usually are, Tiger. Some of these obstacles will be much more macro, as in: affecting the world at large. Look for the weather to throw you some odd, unexpected curveballs at you just as spring is coming. This is the Dragon making an appearance in your skies. All very natural and not catastrophic, but still something for you to weather. This may significantly impact some plans you have. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans of white metal rats and men? Be prepared for anything and adapt accordingly.
Summertime 2020 is your time to play, Tiger. But don't think for a minute you'll be on vacation (even if you're on an actual vacation). Play for you includes going into battle and this coming summer you'll have plenty of opportunities to fight. Remember those challenges mentioned earlier? The ones you're supposed to run right into, like a firefighter into a burning building? Well, the summertime is when this battle royale begins. Look around the workplace in June for anyone gunning for you. A little bit of paranoia might be a good idea at this time. Be prepared for co-workers to take their shots. Have your ducks in a row and double-check your every move for accuracy. You don't want to be blamed for simple, small mistakes. If you're not currently working, you will be in fierce competition with other people looking for the same jobs you are. You'll need to distinguish yourself from the pack. Go the extra mile: volunteer, do some pro bono work, what have you. But by no means should you backstab or cheat to get what you want. You're not a snake, after all. You're a glorious tiger.
That also means don't go around picking fights, especially with family and loved ones. But do prepare yourself for some inevitable confrontations. These aren't necessarily heated battles, but some long-standing issues that have needed to be talked about are coming up at this time. Do not worry, though. This is a good thing. Relish the opportunity to listen to what people want from you and to get your needs aired. You may be surprised by what comes out of your mouth. Consider this time a sort of sea change in your relationships. That doesn't have to mean something ominous. Remember that any sort of change is necessary for healthy growth. Expect big changes with your relationships around the end of May 2020.
By the time late August rolls around, you'll be in a good position to let your guard down on all fronts. This doesn't mean you should fall asleep at the wheel. But you can loosen your grip on it a little bit. The days will start to get a little shorter, the air a little crisper, and the light will be a little hazier. Follow the Earth's lead, Tiger. September means finding a spot of fading autumnal sunshine and laying down to rest. If ever there was a time to take a vacation, this would be it. If you can delegate some work responsibilities to others, do it. Surround yourself with people who do not take energy from you and recharge among them. If that means a little less time with extended family or longtime friends, so be it. You're not cutting anyone off, Tiger, but you are making sure your focus is on you and what you need.
You will look back when November and December 2020 have arrived and you will realize you have gone on a tiger's journey. The fruits of your battles in the summer will be ripe and delicious. Fruit metaphors aside, you'll be in a good position to enjoy the results of your hard work. Enjoy them! You are the feline warrior resting in the sun. Your romantic relationships will reach a new level of understanding and harmony, perhaps beyond your expectations or beliefs. Just accept this bounty as an offshoot of your efforts this year. Financially you'll end the year strong, but it's always a good idea to be cautious, or at least sensible. The holidays are a good time for reflection on what's come before and getting ready for what's ahead. And what is that, you might ask? Many, many more trials and tribulations, but cross that bridge when you're ready for it.
Tigers are some of the fiercest creatures on the planet, bringing fear and awe to every creature who encounters them. Their attack is powerful and final. What most creatures don't see, though, is the rest and recovery period they have before and after: saving up energy for the attack and recovering energy after. This year follows that same arc for you, Tiger. You're going to come off an early period of reflection and energy accumulation, right into battle, then rest, recovery, and planning for your next moves. 2020 shines on you like a celestial tiger, giving you the forces you need to manage all of those stages. When you attack, do so with the rigour of a mighty big cat. And when you rest, remember your house cat roots, stretching in the sun and enjoying everything the universe gives you.
