You’ve never been an overly materialistic person, Scorpio, and that’s served you well. We’re not suggesting you should be at all. But there is one shift in 2021 that you’re going to want to do: you’re going to want to develop a healthy relationship with money. Note that this doesn’t necessarily mean becoming greedy, or shallow, or even rich. It just means you’re going to want to get smarter about your money moving forward. A healthy relationship with money means you’re going to be more comfortable about it and, as a side effect, you’ll probably have a bit more of it passing through your hands.

What’s the best way to get to know someone? Talk with your mutual friends, of course. That’s what you’re going to do with money. We’re guessing that you probably have some friends who at least seem like they know what to do with money. They don’t have to be rich or have a high paying job. Anyone, you know a homeowner? Do you know people with a retirement plan? Or just someone who at least talks as if they have a vague sense of what stocks are? Those are the people you want to reach out to and set up a coffee date with. These are people whose brains you’ll want to pick and who you’ll want to find out all you can about your new potential friend, money. Take notes on what you find out and see what you discover.

In the course of that voyage of discovery, you’ll hopefully start figuring out what’s going to be important to you when it comes to money. What are your values? What do you want? If the idea of sorting these answers stresses you out, Scorpio, you’ll have a sort of sherpa to help you out. You’re going to meet someone in the middle of March 2021 that is going to help you figure out what you want from money. They might not be a money professional, but they will have plenty of experience to draw on and the money wisdom to help you out. Talk to them about what you think you want from life. It doesn’t even have to be that goal-oriented: talk to them about your likes and dislikes. In doing so, you’ll start to formulate your own plan for what you want your money to do. We don’t mean to make them sound like a cult leader. If anything, they’re going to serve as a sort of therapist for your money anxieties. Come back to them in December 2021 and give them an update as to how you’re doing. More importantly, take note of how *you* feel you’re doing and if money is still a stressful thing for you. We’re going to take a gamble and say it’s much less so. Certainly, you’ll still have a ways to go with it in 2022, but you’ll be on the right track for having a good relationship with money. And on top of that, you’ll have a bit more money in your bank account.

Scorpio, meet your new friend for 2021: money. You’ll have a long period of getting to know them, knowing their pitfalls, but also finding out how they can make your life richer (in every sense of the word). Building that relationship is going to be one of the smartest adult decisions you’ll make. It’ll serve you well for the rest of your life.
