Love Horoscope 2022

After a few years of social distancing and global stresses, it's been hard to find the time to get out into the dating scene much. While the late spring of last year and summer was definitely a bit of an upgrade as far as love is concerned, it still wasn't anything promising more than some summer love escapades for most. If we're looking for something permanent, however, 2022 is looking much better.

However, even if 2022 is feeling better in the realm of courtship, it won't really feel like it, at least until February. Venus, one of the primary planets responsible for the heart's matters, will be retrograde for most of the first month of the year. This puts a hamper on the starting of a new romance and the sustaining of old ones. In other words, the year starts putting us to work to see if we really deserve the archetypal "The Notebook" love story. This can mean that you may have to address some longstanding issues if you're already in a relationship. Though, if you're looking for one, you may have to do some self-loving before you get to love others—as cliche as that may sound.

The month that takes the cake as the most fertile for some real movie-worthy romance in April. Mars and Venus, the two planets that signify fantasy and desire, will be in Pisces, a substantially whimsical and tender sign. Not only that, Jupiter, the Greater Benefic, will also be sharing the same place with those two. It not only helps alleviate some of the rash and bad boy-like tendencies of Mars but it hyper emphasizes Venus, who, as a star of Aphrodite, has all the power to unite those who need to be connected. You can expect Cupid to get busy around that time.

With that said, the love stories from movies are hardly ever real. If we believe that we're in one, more often than not, we're overlooking some things that need a certain level of extra care. We must remember that even though there's all of that vigorous flow of energy happening in Pisces, Neptune is still in there, which can make for the good old rose-tinted glasses situation. As far as spring romance goes, it's important to look at things for what they are as opposed to what you want them to be. Sitting with your needs to manifest them is important, but not as much as being realistic. Even more so, if we're talking long-term here, committing to a box of red flags so you can paint them a different colour later is, perhaps, a little counterintuitive.

This is even more emphasized when we look at the next place Venus will have a strong influence in the microcosm. In May, she enters her own sign, Taurus. Even if she has a strong voice in there, she will still be sharing a place with Uranus and the North-Node. This can make things somewhat fickle and inconstant. And since we're talking about the stubborn bull here, there may be a tendency to deny some needed disputes. While this is far from a dealbreaker, it can make things a little rocky for those who clung to the Neptunian illusion of perfection. Even more so, if we're talking about longstanding relationships, it could be easy to get moody with romantic life's inconsistencies. Yet, even if there's all that to work on, Venus still gives the support needed to make peace and move forward, as long as the intent is there to make it happen. I did say 2022 is the year to start long-term relationships, and with long-term comes work.

The next best time to tend to your love life is later in the year in October when we have a Venus Cazimi happening in Libra. Whereas while Venus was in Pisces, the general vibe of love matters is dreamy and disorienting, with Venus in Libra, we gain a much more consonant approach to these matters. Especially since Saturn will be stationing direct while Mercury—who is also in Libra— is applying to a trine with it. Astrology technicalities aside, these series of transits opens up the way for meaningful discussions, especially as commitments are concerned. There will honestly be no better time in 2022 to get engaged or even married. This transit happens on October 22nd.

In short, 2022 is the year when the more you commit to finding or nurturing a relationship, the better it will be. Don't let minor hiccups dissuade you from pursuing somebody, especially in the earlier half of the year. Though, most importantly, listen to your intuition, and it will guide you to where you need to be.
