Lunation
Lunation describes the Moon's cycle of progression from one new phase to another and back again. A full lunar period of one set of sequential Moon phases is called a Lunation for astrological reference. A Lunation is split into two semicircles, the waxing where the future is revealed and the waning where the past will be highlighted. A Lunar Chart can be created based on the time the Moon joins the Sun using what we call Synodical Lunation. A complete Lunation for Astrology charting interpretation occurs on average around every 29 days and 12 hours. Lunation's along with Nodes and Eclipses are calculated in relation to the Earth's orbit.
