One of the most well-known French fashion designer is Christian Dior bon on January 21, 1905 in Normandy, France. Dior loved art and fashion and his gay lifestyle. He turned to art and opened a small art gallery where he sold art by Pablo Picasso and others. The beginning of 1940, Christian Dior designed in Robert Piguet's fashion house and then went into the military. Dior finished with the army in 1942 and associated with Lucien Lelong and became one of the primary designers. He designed dresses for the wives of German officers and French traitors. He kept Balmain's fashion house open.
In 1946 Dior founded his own fashion house and his first design assemblage was entitled Corolle or the New Look. Dior's designs were voluptuous and Dior was masterful at creating shapes. He employed fabrics that were lined with percale, used bone and bodices that were bustier?€“style. Dior included designs of wasp waisted corsets, he loved hip padding and included petticoats in his styles. His models looked high curvaceous and feminine.
Dior revolutionized women's dresses and established Paris as the center of the fashion world. Dior died on October 23, 1957 of a heart attack. There are many theories as to his heart attack, but no one knows the exact cause of his heart attack.
