Catherine Bush was born on July 30 1958 in Welling, England. For the past 35 years she has been one of Britain's most successful female performers.
When Kate was only 19 her inauguration single Wuthering Heights hit #1 on the UK Singles Charts. She was the first women to have a number one rating with a self-written song. She has produced over ten albums and three of these topped the UK Albums Charts. Kate has 25 UK top 40 hit singles including The Man with the Child in His Eyes, Running Up That Hill, Babooshka, Don't Give Up (with Peter Gabriel) and King of the Mountain.
She received the Brit Award in 1987 and in 2002 she received an Ivor Novello Award for exceptional contributions to British music. Kate has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. She only toured one time in 1979 and released the album Never for Ever which against topped the UK album charts.
Kate takes a great deal of time between album releases and rumors have always lead to illness or weight gain. However, Kate states that she is prioritizing her family life and denies being a perfectionist. In fact, states Kate, flawed parts make a piece interesting.
She was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2013. This honor was given to her by Queen Elizabeth II on April 10, 2013 at Windsor Castle.
Kate Bush and guitarist Dan McIntosh have been married for years and they have a son named Albert. Kate moved to Devon and is still there.
