Born on August 19, 1969 in Williamstown Massachusetts Matthew Langford Perry was raised in Ottawa where he was a junior tennis player. He moved to Los Angeles at 15 to live with his father and became interested in acting. He played in high school stage plays but still loved to play tennis. When he graduated from high school, he was offered the lead in Second Chance in 1987.
Perry performed in the comedy film The Whole Nine Yards in 2000, Fools Rush In in 1997, and She's Out of Control in 1989. He worked alongside Chris Farley in Almost Heroes in 1998 and Three to Tango in 1999. His major breakthrough came in 1994 when he was cast as Chandler Bing on the hit series Friends. His wit and jokes were often used on the sitcom and he is very close to Jennifer Aniston.
His weight ballooned after his fight with Vicodin, alcohol, methadone, and amphetamines treatment. After three failed television pilots, Perry is currently working on other projects.
