Born on October 24, 1927 in Paris France Jean-Claude Pascal was originally named Jean-Claude Villeminot. Pascal changed his name to fit with his career as a French singer as well as a comedian. He studied at the Sorbonne University after WWII and turned to fashion design for Christian Dior. He worked on costumes for the play Don Juan which gave him the inspiration to turn to acting. Pascal made his first movie in 1949 Quattro rose rosse.
Several movies followed with La Belle et l'empereur in 1959 with Romy Schneider and Angelique and the Sultan alongside Michele Mercier. Pascal sang at the 1961 Eurovison Song Contest and won with his song, We the Lovers. Music was composed by Jacques Datin and lyrics by Maurice Vidalin. Pascal represented Luxembourg again in the 1981 song contest and finished 11th.
Fans will remember jean-Claude Pascal as singing Lily Marlene in both German and French. He passed away of lung cancer on May 5, 1992 in Paris France.
