Sinead Marie-Bernadette O'Connor was born in Dublin on December 8, 1966. She began her singing career as a "Kiss-o-gram" girl in Dublin and went on to tear up a photo of Pope John Paul II (1975) on Saturday Night Live while shouting "Fight the true evil!"
Sinead is truly talented and proved it when she won a Grammy for I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got (1990). She refused to accept the award. Sinead is ranked on VH1s 100 greatest women of rock n roll, a title she refuses to accept.
Sinead is an Irish songwriter and singer and her claim to fame is The Lion and the Cobra. She realized triumph with her rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U (Prince, 1990). Sinead sings with other artists in singles, films and at charity fundraising concerts. She has nine solo albums credited to her.
Sinead released Faith and Courage in 2000 and her 2002 album Sean-Nos Nua sexed up traditional Irish folk songs. After a bout with fibromyalgia Sinead released Throw Down your Arms in 2005, and in 2006 Sinead performed songs from her album Theology at the Sugar Club in Dublin. She began touring again in 2013 with her Crazy Baldhead Tour. 4th and Vine was released in February 2013.
Sinead's trademark is her shaven head and minimalist clothing. She was married four times. Once to John Reynolds in 1987-1991, one child, once to Nicolas Sommerlad in July 2001 to February 2004, once to Steve Cooney from July 2010 to 2011, and currently to Barry Herridge. She has a total of three children.
