Angeline Brown (Angie Dickinson) was born on September 31, 1931 in Kulm, North Dakota. She was the daughter of The Kulm Messenger publisher. When Angie was 11 the family relocated to Burbank and at Bellamarine Jefferson High School Angie won the Sixth Annual Bill of Rights Contest. Angie first wanted to become a writer but after winning her first beauty contest decided on acting. In1953 she entered the Miss America contest and took second place. She was a winner in a beauty contest sponsored by NBC and appeared in variety shows.
Her first part was in 1954 in The Millionaire. Her first film role was opposite John Wayne and Dean Martin in Rio Bravo in 1959. Angie is known for her large brown eyes and platinum blonde hair. She has a sultry voice and his known for her voluptuous figure. She had a ten year relationship with Frank Sinatra and ranked #42 in Playboy magazine's 100 sexiest stars of the century in 1999.
Her television role in Police Woman in 1974 was her role model role and she played Kate Miller in Dressed To Kill in 1980. Angie has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Angie was married to Gene Dickinson in 1952 until 1960 when they divorced. She married Burt Bacharach in 1965 and they divorced in 1981. Burt and Angie had one child, a daughter who committed suicide at the age of 40.
