Tuscany, Italy is the home of Ivo Livi or Yves Montand who was born on October 13, 1932. He is an actor and singer who is known for his performances in Jean de Florette in 1986, The Wages of Fear in 1953, and Z in 1969 and his singing of Autumn Leaves. He was also a hair dresser in Marseille, France in his younger years.
He was a member of the Communist Party until 1968 when the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia. Montand was also the first popular singer to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House in 1982 and had his first singing tour of the U.S. in 1959. Montand also had a publicized affair with Marilyn Monroe in 1960 while they filmed Let's make Love.
Montand and Simone Signoret were married from December 1951 until her death in September of 1985. He then married Carole Amiel in 1991 and they remained married until his death. They had one child. Montand died on November 9, 1991, in Senlis, Oise, France of a heart attack.
