Frederic Francois Chopin was born possibly February 22, 1810. He was a Polish composer in the Romantic era of music and literature. As a child prodigy Franciszek Chopin trained in Warsaw and composed many of this musical pieces before leaving Poland. He settled in Paris and became a French citizen in 1835. He gave over 30 public performances but preferred intimate setting of salons. He support himself by selling his music and as a piano teacher.
Chopin was a friend of Franz Liszt and was highly admired by his musical equals. His failed engagement with a Polish gird lead him to a troubled relationship with George Sand (Aurore Dupin). He wrote most of his composition from 1938 to 1839 while visiting Majorca with Sand. During his final years Chopin was supported by Jane Stirling. Chopin suffered from poor health and died in Paris of tuberculosis in 1849.
Chopin's music compositions always include the piano and are technically difficult. His performances were known for the sensitivity and he invented the instrumental ballade. He also composed sonatas, waltzes, and mazurkas for the piano. Most of his works were published after his death. His compositions contain strains of Polish folk music and were highly influenced by the romantic period of art.
There are over 230 work of Chopin's, but some of his compositions from his early childhood have been lost or destroyed. Robert Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn and Clara Wieck consider Chop as the perfect musician. In 1835 he sent his fianc? Maria Nocturne in C-sharp minor, Op.27. No.1. She thanked him prettily, but broke off the engagement.
