Born August 25, 1930 in Edinburgh Scotland Sean Conner tried his hand as a lorry driver, laborer, artist's model, milkman, bodybuilder and coffin polisher. He joined the Royal Navy but had medical problems and was discharged. At 23 Sean had the choice of being a professional footballer or an actor. He chose acting and to this day is high known as James Bond.
Connery's first major movie was No Road Back in 1957 and he made several TV movies, Anna Karenina, Anna Christie, and Macbeth. He had guest appearances in the movies Hell Drivers in 1957, Another Time Another Place in 1958 and in Darby O'Gill and the Little People in 1959. Connery appeared in the Longest Day in 1962.
In 1962 Connery was tapped to play secret agent James Bond in Dr. No. He then went on to play Bond in From Russia with Love, Thunderball, Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice in 1967. He was Bond in Diamonds are Forever (1981) and again in Never Say Never Again (1983). While filming the Bond series, Connery acted in Marnie, The Hill, Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), The Wind and the Lion in 1975 and The Highlander in 1986. He continued on with Name of the Rose in 1986 and The Untouchables in 1987 which earned him an Oscar for best actor. In was awesome in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989 and The Hunt for Red October in 1990.
Connery married Diane Cilento in 1962 and they had one son Jason Connery who is also an actor. He divorced Diane in 1973 and in 1975 married Micheline Roquebrune. According to reliable sources, Sean Conner has retired. His last film was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in 2003. Connery is a knight and entitled to go by the name Sir Sean Connery.
