Kurt Russell

Kurt Vogel Russell (March 17, 1951) was awarded a part with Elvis Presley in It Happened at the World's Fair. Russell was only ten years old. This gave Walt Disney the inspiration to sign Russell to a lucrative contract that lasted 10 years. When his contract with Disney ended he lived the 1970s as a minor league baseball player until sidelined by a shoulder injury. He played Elvis Presley in an ABC television movie and his portrayal earned him a listing of good movies: Used Cars in 1980, Escape from New York in 1981, The Thing in 1982 and Silkwood in 1983.
In 1983 Russell and Goldie Hawn worked together on Swing Shift in 1984 and the two have cohabited ever since. They also played together in Overboard in 1987. Russell's career seemed to stall until 1989 when he landed the part in Tango & Cash. He also rejuvenated his career by starring in Backdraft (1991).
Russell in an FAA licensed private pilot and is a card carrying member of the NRA. Russell auditioned for the Han Solo role in the Star Wars: Episode IV ?€“ A New Hope (1977), but lost out to Harrison Ford. You can see Russell in Stargate (1994), Tombstone (1993), Executive Decision (1996) and 3000 Miles to Graceland (2001). Currently Russell is filming The Art of the Steal.
