Mark Anthony McDermott also known as Dylan McDermott is an American television, theater and film performer. He was born in Waterbury Connecticut the 26th of October 1961. You can see Dylan in The Messiahs (2007), Home for the Holidays (1995) and Steel Magnolias from 1989. Miracle on 34th Street (1994) and In the Line of Fire (1993) are credited to McDermott. In television McDermott acted in The Grid, 2004 and was the star of The Practice 1997 (awarded best actor at the Golden Globes).
Theater credited to McDermott includes Three Changes and The Treatment. McDermott was nominated for a Drama league Award for his portrayal of a traumatized military interrogator in this play. McDermott can be seen in American Horror Story (2011) on television.
McDermott is the villain in Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and he is performing in Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues on Broadway. McDermott was discovered by Joanne Woodward when he was working at the Neighborhood Playhouse and David E. Kelley who cast McDermott in The Practice in 1997.
He married Shiva Rose in 1995 (later divorced) and has two children. He changed his name from Mark to Dylan to honor his stepmother Eve Ensler the author of The Vagina Monologues.
