David Schwimmer

David Lawrence Schwimmer, born in New York City on November 2, 1966 is a television film and animated story actor. He is also a director and producer. He started his career by performing in school plays at Beverly Hills High School. In 1888 Schwimmer graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in speech and theater. He co-founded Lookingglass Theatre Company, but for much of the 1980s he was an unemployed actor.
Schwimmer starred in A Deadly Silence in 1989 and worked on L.A. Law, The Wonder Years, Monty, and NYPD Blues. He was chosen to play Ross Geller in the successful Friend sitcom. He performed in The Pallbearer in 1996, Kissing a Fool in 1998 and Six Days Seven Nights in 1998. In 2000 Schwimmer played in Picking Up the Pieces and then in the miniseries Band of Brothers (2001).

When Friends ended in 2004 Schwimmer was cast in Duane Hopwood. In 2006 Schwimmer lent his voice to Melman the giraffe in Madagascar I and II. Schwimmer's directorial debut in 2007 was with Run Fatboy Run.

Schwimmer is married to Zoe Buckman and they have one daughter born in 2011. Schwimmer is a director of the Rape Treatment Center in Santa Monica, campaigned against Rohypnol and GHB (date rape drugs), and works to prevent child abuse.
