Robert Vaughn

Born on November 22, 1932 in New York City Robert Francis Vaughn was the son of a show business father and a stage star actress mother. He was nominated for an Oscar in The Young Philadelphians in 1959 and the year after he was popular in The Magnificent Seven 1950. He mostly works on television and appeared over 200 times from the 1950s to the 1960s. In 1963 he found his major role in The Lieutenant (1963).
In 1964 Vaughn was award the starring role in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. this highly popular series was a hit from 1964 until 1968. After the series ended he stared in Bullitt in1968 and The Ridge at Remagen in 1969 plus The Mind of Mr. Soames in 1970. He went back to television and had the lead role in The Protectors in 1972. This was a British sit-com. Vaughn received an Emmy in 1978 for Washington: Behind Closed Doors and Backstairs at the Whitehouse in 1979.
Vaughn married Lina Staab in 1974 and finished his work stars who were blacklisted during the McCarthy witch hunt era. Published in 1972 as Only Victims: A Study of Show Business Blacklisting. In 1981 he was in S.O.B., Superman III in 1983, The Delta Force in 1986 and Black Moon Rising in 1986. He appeared in The A-Team in 1983 and Emerald Point N.A.S. in 1983.
Vaughn has a start on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and his star is located near the corner of Hollywood and Cherokee.
