Anne Parillaud was born in Paris France May 6, 1960. Anne studied ballet and her breakout role in films was playing Nikita in La Femme Nikita (1990). To prepare for this acting role Anne took judo lessons for three months. Anne believes that when she is acting she abandons herself to the character and that character becomes a part of her. Anne states that before she takes a part in a film it must "touch her heart."
Anne moved to America for a short time to do Innocent Blood in 1992. She played a woman who became a vampire. Anne believes that Innocent Blood is more about dealing with the problems of being different rather than a vampire movie.
Anne has acted in more than 30 films since her debut and some of the ones most remembered are Nikita, Innocent Blood, Map of the Human Heart and Frankie Starlight. Anne has acted in numerous foreign films including A la Folie, Passage a l'acte, Une our toutes, Sex is Comedy and In Their Sleep a French psychological thriller.
Anne was married to Jean Michel Jarre between 2005 and 2010. She has a daughter, Juliette with ex-husband Luc Besson and two sons with film producer Mark Allan.
Anne won the Cesar Award for best Actress in 1991 for her portrayer as Nikita, the David de Donatello Award for Best Foreign Actress in Nikita and the Best Actress, Paris Film Festival, in 2004 for Deadlines. She won a special mention in 1993 for Map of the Human Heart from the Tokyo International Film Festival.
