Born on September 25, 1952 in New York City Christopher is best known for his role as Superman. He attended Cornell University and worked as a professional actor at the same time. He was one of two students selected to study at New York's Julliard School of Perform Arts under John Houseman. He played Superman with grace and charisma and has done so much more. Reeve was paralyzed after a horse riding accident and died at the age of 52 due to compilations.
Reeves was known for his black hair and bold blue eyes as well as his athletic physique. At the time of his death he was working on another book to accompany his best seller Still Me. After his accident Reeve and his wife Dana opened a center to help paralyzed people live more independently. It is still known as the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center. The Reeve Family Foundation has granted more than $22 million to research.
Before Reeve died he played a paralyzed person in Above Suspicion (1995). While filming a safety film on horseback riding, Reeve feel and was severely injured.
Reeve starred with Michael Keaton in Speechless in 1994 and starred opposite Katharine Hepburn in A Matter of Gravity (on stage).
Christopher Reeve was married to Dana Reeve from April 1992 until October 2004 at his death. They had one son.
