Spending her time dancing and fishing with her father gave Teri Hatcher the drive to become an actress. She was the only child of a nuclear scientist and a computer programmer. Parents welcomed Teri on December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto, California. After graduating from high school, Hatcher studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. At the same time she was taking courses in mathematics and engineering. She was a member of the 1984 Gold Rush or the professional cheer squad of the San Francisco 49ers.
Terri went to Hollywood with a friend for an open casting call. She auditioned and won the role of the singing and dancing mermaid for The Love Boat in 1977. She played Penny Parker in MacGyver in 1985 and won the role of Lois Lane on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in 1993.
Hatcher married Jon Tenny in 1994 and gave birth to Emerson Tenny in 1997. She played Sally Bowles in the road tour of Cabaret. Hatcher left Hollywood for a bit before being picked to the lead of Susan Mayer on Desperate Housewives in 2004. Hatcher won a Golden Globe for lead Actress in a Comedy Series and the SAG Award for Female Actor in a comedy series.
Hatcher is a natural brunette and has a lisp plus huge brown eyes. She divorced Jon Tenny in 2003. Hatcher won the Editor's Special Award for combining motherhood, a career and looking gorgeous at the same time. She was chosen by People Magazine in 2005 as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
In 2005 Hatcher released her Burnt Toast: And Other Philosophies of Life autobiography and Hatcher claims that she is 1/16th Choctaw Native American. Teri has also done cute ditzy Radio Shack commercials with Howie Long.
