Born Walter Bruce Willis on March 19, 1955 in Idr-Obersten West Germany and nicknamed Bruno, Willis is an actor and musician who is known for his wisecracking and hard edged characters. He has appeared in films that have grossed over $2.5 billion putting Willis in the top ten stars in terms of box office receipts.
Willis found an interest for acting in high school and was discovered while working in a cafe in New York. He appeared in off-Broadway Productions and was found by a casting director who needed a bartender for a movie role. He played in the hit television series Moonlighting (1985) and was quickly picked to play hard-boiled NYC detective John McClane in the hit Die Hard (1988). He again played John McClane in Die Hard 2 in 1990. Die Hard with a Vengeance was filmed in 1995.
He was the voice of Mikey the baby in Look Who's Talking in 1989 and Look Who's Talking Two (1990). He was The Last Boy Scout in 1991 and Death Becomes Her in 1992. He was a cagy prize fight in Pulp Fiction in 1994 and Twelve Monkeys in 1995. Willis acted in The Fifth Element in 1997 and The Sixth Sense in 1999.
From 2000 to 2003 he acted in films less sensational, but gave him an edge: The Whole Nine Yards, Unbreakable and Hart's War plus Tears of the Sun. He was the voice of RJ in Over the Hedge and returned as John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard in 2007.
Willis was married to Demi Moore from 1987 until 2000. They divorced but share three children. He is currently married to Emma Heming and they have one child.
Willis worked on The Expendables in 2010 and has filmed A Good Day to Die Hard in 2013.
