The combination Na Ra is governed by “Mara—the Son of the Celestial.” When Mara, the demonic king capable of tempting even the Buddha himself (although unsuccessfully), is governing your life, it is best to brace yourself for whatever calamity you may find. Be prepared for every endeavor in your life to be met with fiery destruction. You will find obstacle after obstacle in the way of your every intention, so many that you will not even have time to recover from the first setback before you can continue. Your material possessions will burn away to ash and you will catch yourself losing a lot of money. Even your personal relationships will be full of strife and disagreements, including with the people that you love and thought you could rely on most.
In the face of such difficulties, it is easiest to fall into despair or escapism, to waste your days searching for the distraction that will blind you to the difficulties you are going through right now. If you display such weakness of spirit, then your time of barrenness and destruction will never seem to come to an end. You must accept all that is coming to you by recognizing the inevitability of fate, yet maintaining your goals in mind. While it does no good to struggle futilely against all of the powers of fate, making what small efforts you can to change your situation or even clearing your mind with meditation will make it easier to seize the opportunity to change your situation when it comes. It is difficult to do, but making the effort to lift your spirits and steal moments of happiness despite all the demons assembled against you, and recognizing the potential for rebuilding that will come after this destructive period, will make it easier to keep going.
A steady spiritual practice can also help you survive this difficult time and may even persuade fate to turn in your favor faster. The element of fire is destructive, but is often a source of peace. Fire heats our homes and is the center of the community, where people gather to tell stories and form neighborly bonds. Thus, peaceful fire rituals or water rituals to counterbalance the energy of fire in your life can help temper the wrathful effects of Mara on your life.
