Although it is much maligned, desire is one of the most powerful forces that govern our lives. Prudish forces that seek to hold all of society under their sway may associate desire, especially the purest, most ancient form of desire that comes between two people, with the devil and with evil, but enlightened people know better. Without lust or desire, none of us would be here.
At its purest, desire is about balance. It is the force that signifies the tug between two opposites, the balance between energies. It creates beauty, like art and ballroom dancing. It fosters the most intimate, physical connections between people and between the world as a whole.
There is no cut-off date for desire, for feeling out that tug of the opposite force, for flirting with others and with life itself. Lust is a fuel, it adds passion to life. It is an important element in every existence and should be embraced.
