The Sun revolves around a Galactic Centre along with all the other bodies associated with the Solar System. It moves at 12 miles per second in the direction of the Constellation Hercules, in right Ascension 277?° and declination of 30?° North at the end of December each year, when Earth is directly behind the Sun in its motion round the centre of the Galaxy. The point to which the Sun's galactic motion moves is called the Solar Apex.
