Dream Dictionary Alligators

When you see an alligator in your dream, as a symbol it is usually representative of deceitfulness. You will probably know if anyone in your life has been especially deceitful in what they have told you in certain cases. You will know what this type of interpretation applies to. If you suspect that one of your friends has been trying to get something out of you, or that someone has been using you lately, or even lying to you, the alligator is representative of this fact. It is fine to play along with someone for the sake of ending a mutually destructive relationship sooner, but if you cannot get this deceitful person to leave you alone, then you might want to try more drastic measures such as cutting off contact entirely.

When you have a dream where you see alligators very near to you, especially if there are multiple alligators, then this can mean that you have a thick skin. Not much that anyone does around you can really hurt you or truly get to you. In some ways this is a good sign. For example it would prevent petty insults and backtalk from making you feel any worse about yourself. On the other hand it could be a terrible thing because it would make it just as hard for positive things such as compliments and declarations of love to penetrate your thick hide. It is fine to close off negative influences from reaching you and to prevent their insults from affecting the way that you feel about yourself, but you cannot shut off the whole world from yourself. This would end well for no one involved.

If you dream that you are running from an alligator then this means that there is some aspect of your subconscious that you are afraid to confront. This could mean that you see a bit of evil or a bit of treachery in your own heart. It is natural to want to think of yourself as perfect, but in all reality it is well known that no one is perfect. Truthfully, the moment that you own up to your negative qualities and start to address them with an upfront attitude rather than trying to hide these elements away, is the moment that you start to heal and really begin dealing with the negative aspects of yourself. You need to learn how to deal and not how to ignore. Ignoring your faults is only a temporary solution.

If you dream that an alligator is taking advantage of you then this usually means that you feel as if you are being held under the grasp of a powerful and influential person in your life. Someone is holding you back from where you really belong and need to be, and it is not working out well for you. You need to do whatever you can to cut this destructive relationship from your life. The sooner you do, the sooner you get back on the track to healing.
