Dream Dictionary Black Eye

If you dream that you have a black eye, it means that you feel as though you have been too careless lately. This is your body's way of warning you to slow down on the activity. You are putting yourself into dangerous situations and you will cause some serious damage to yourself if you don't do something about it quickly. You need to quit what you are doing and take a new direction in life, one that is more concerned with your own safety and well being. This is what needs to be recognized before you can continue on in life.

To dream that you have a black eye may also suggest that you feel someone else has hurt you. This is not a physical kind of pain, otherwise you would know it already and there would be no need for your dream to be interpreted. This is an emotional kind of pain, which is manifesting itself as the image of yourself with a black eye in your dreams. Black eyes hurt and so do emotional scars. You want to come to terms with what someone else is doing to you and how they are hurting you, but the bottom line is, you should not stay in contact with someone that actively hurts you on many occasions. You are worth more than that. If someone is really hurting your feelings or demoralizing you, make sure that they know how they are making you feel, and if they are okay with that, then you need to let them know that you will not take it anymore.

To dream that you give someone else a black eye is to suggest that you are hurting someone else. Again obviously this does not reference a physical type of pain, or you would already know the meaning of your dream. This is to suggest that you have been emotionally aggressive towards someone that you love and respect. Most of the time that we are mean to the people we love it is out of a quick reaction that we give ourselves little time to think about it, and as soon as they are hurt, we apologize and try to make things better because deep down we don't actually want to hurt anyone. To give someone a black eye callously in your dream suggests that you don't care about them and they are worthless to you, but to give someone a black eye and be repentant over it suggests that you have been hurting someone in real life and need to show them more respect before something even worse happens and they are even more hurt than they are already.

You cannot go around hurting other people and you don't even want to. What you should do is go around and apologize for what you have done. Perhaps then you will be forgiven for everything that you have done wrong, but you cannot expect to receive forgiveness unless you apologize first and show that you really are sorry.
