The ceiling can be a paradoxical sort of dream to interpret because many of the definitions of this kind of dream actively contradict one another. For example, the ceiling can in one case represent the highest achievement possible. The ceiling is the highest part of the house after all. Once you get up to the ceiling there is no going anywhere else. But at the same time it can represent the pinnacle of everything that is stopping you from achieving your hopes and dreams. The only way for you to find out what it means in your case is if you remember very well what actually happened in your dreams and take careful not before it slips your mind.
To dream that you are bumping your head on the ceiling could mean that you have achieved the greatest of all accomplishments that you would be interested in achieving. Obviously there are objectively greater achievements that take more time and energy such as winning the lottery or such as becoming the president of the united states or the prime minister of another country, but if helping your son win his first little league game is the most important thing to you right now then this is probably what it means to you when you have a dream about bumping your head on the ceiling.
Of course these achievements have to be things that you have truly accomplished in the waking world for this to be relevant. You won't exactly be reveling in your accomplishments in your dreams if you're actually a fat do-nothing slob in real life because in your dreams your more rational mind takes over and helps you through autopilot, even if the dreams you are having seem totally irrational.
If you have a dream in which you see a ceiling or in which you are floating up and you are stifled by the ceiling or can't go on any further because the ceiling is so high then this suggests that there is something preventing you from achieving your true goals. You have a major goal in life and that is to get to a place of real importance, but there is something that is standing in your way and right now it is all you can think about. Try to push these thoughts from your mind if you want to succeed. You can't always be thinking about the things that are stopping you because that will lead to a situation in which you don't even want to put your best foot forward in the first place.
The best thing for you to do is simply ignore the thing. No matter how impassible it might seem, there is always a way to defeat a problem if you have enough drive. If the obstacle is money, find a way to make more of it, and if the obstacle isn't money then chances are you can use money to solve it, which will require a bit more money and a bit more drive to make that money. Some people say money makes the world go around, but without ambition we'd be completely lost.
The ceiling is a good goal for anyone to shoot for at the start but once you've reached the ceiling you need to shoot for space and then once you've made it to space, shoot for the universe. If you keep having dreams about hitting your head on the ceiling then it means that you need to raise your goals and concern yourself with getting a little bit further outside your comfort zone. If you can dream it you can do it.
Dreamt of three really big (5 Feet) purplish starfish attached to rafters on the ceiling also several spider different sizes.

I dream about a LOT of ceilings and I doubt they have anything to do with my goals. If I encounter ceilings, it's because when I'm asleep, I usually dream about hiding. I dream about going 'up' and 'away' so I start pulling nails or slats; or I simply claw open the ceiling. I get through into these small spaces in between storeys. I dream about the structure of the house and how I want to disappear into it; while always feeling this drive to 'go on'. So I reach another floor; and another ceiling to be wrecked open. I don't think I made it to the roof many times. Usually I creep up from inside a wall or a built in- closet, and I start running from whatever's chasing me. I know that the 'chasing' part is something I should analyze; but why these ceilings keep ocurring and why I get caught up in these endless cycles of climbing through ceilings and storeys, I can't find the answer anywhere.

Disturbo the Clown
Ever have a dream that you’re in a mountain town on foot, trying to get home? There are dark purple storm clouds, fire, and black smoke. People are freaked out and you realize there is a kind of wooden ceiling that moves over the entire sky with gaps in it. That seems impossible and it feels like the end of the world. Yeah. Me neither.

I had a vivid dream about being in some shops/ restaurant, but when i went into the nextroom, it was almost completely empty aside from a TV and a ceiling fan. I saw a shadow man in the corner and he just sat there watching me, but whenever I called someone in to help, no one else could see it, please tell me what this means!!!

I dreamt that the ceiling was growing large tropical flowering plants that covered the ceiling they looked very beautiful, pink yellow orange flowers, they were small but the plants had large tubular stems as fat as a 50 cent piece? The feeling was one of awesomely beautiful ceiling as though it were a painting but instead they were real

I've had a reoccurring dream for years which involves a feeling of demonic induced terror, and I'm am sucked up on the ceiling, unable to climb down. Sometimes there's an ominous other worldly creature in the corner of the ceiling as well. I'm not religious, I belive in science. But this dream has toriented me for years. Any input, please?

I understand you aren't religious and you don't have to be but Jesus can still help you with that other worldly creature. Just call his name when you see that creature.

This dream is kind of strange and, in my opinion a bit disturbing, but I need to understand it. I had a dream that I was lying in bed looking up at the ceiling. I then see the head of my aunt (who passed away long ago) appear on the ceiling (no blood, or gore or anything). It was her head from the neck up, so her neck was touching the ceiling making her head appear upside down to me. Her face was looking at me while her head starts to quickly drag across the ceiling all the way to the opposite side, then it disappears. I woke up slightly frightened and confused. What does this mean?

I had a dream where i was in a bit of a high place (probably a terrace) with a medium wall. A bit above i saw a bedroom with white walls, a bed with a white blanket, a bedside table in both sides of the bed and there was no ceiling in the bedroom. Above the bedroom there was the a blue ocean (cant remember calm or really small waves). On top of all this was the blue sky with some vibrational waves. For some reason i wanna to connect with those waves because time was running out. What does this mean?

In my dream, I was inside a moving train and lying on the floor with a camera, taking some shots of the ceiling with an intricate design. My mind was focus with the design, but I was worried at the same time for my mom (deceased) and aunt who was travelling with me in the train going to a certain place. There was some kind of a birthday celebration happening inside.

I have had this dream about 3 times now-I'm in this big house and there's these "villains" or "bad guys" who me and the police need to catch who crawl through the ceiling accessed through the vents in the hallways. I'm really confused.

I have recurring dreams that the ceilings in my parents' home are full of water and I'm afraid they are going to burst. I'm also angry that my father hasn't done anything about it.

I had a dream that a room in the house where I was renting/living needed it's wood beams, in the vaulted ceiling, which were exposed, fixed. A guy came and wanted to park his car on the driveway, and would open the garage door, which I then would close it because I didn't want it open. The owner then came, with some other young guys, to fix them.
