Sometimes things in the dream world come in doubles and sometimes these doubles are brought on by viewing far too many double mint gum commercials. However this is not necessarily the case and for most people usually isn't because they don't run a lot of double mint gum commercials anymore, but sometimes things in life in general just happen to come in doubles which is another reason you might be dreaming of them. These also go along with dreams of double people and double image.

If you have a dream in which you see a double of yourself then this means that right now you feel like you are another person, or you feel like the actions being done by you are really being done by someone else in a body that is exactly your own. This is a symbol of detachment and it is not a good one. This is one of the first signs of a full-blown case of depression of the clinical variety, you do not want this to happen, and it is not a positive thing. Another possibility of what this dream might mean is that it is about the fact that you no longer feel like an individual anymore. You are starting to feel like you are not unique anymore. You do not feel like a genuine version of yourself and it is starting to show. Don't let yourself lose your sense of individuality.

If you have a dream about double people this can probably be scary and disturbing at first, but it usually means that you are thinking about how people can be so different and so strange. If you have a dream of seeing a double person and that double person is you then this means that you feel like you are not unique anymore. Maybe you have spent too much time conforming to other people's expectations of you and you wish that they would just agree to get along better with you, but right now that just isn't happening even though you really wish it would.
