When you dream of being lost, it usually indicates that either you, or something in your life is about to go astray. No matter whether this turns out to be an important document, or you are unable to reach a remote destination, the feelings associated with being lost can be very disturbing. Therefore, when this symbol appears in your dream, it may be of some help to re-organize important information, or look for other ways to make sure that you are able to keep your life on track.
Lost Dream General Meaning
A dream of being lost can easily indicate that you are insecure about your future, as well as any goals that you may be trying to reach. In fact, you may find yourself in a situation where you aren't even sure what your future goals are, let alone how to reach them. If you dream of calling for help, or asking for directions, then it may indicate you already realize that you are having problems, and need to seek advice. When you dream of others being lost, it may indicate that you feel alienated from them, or that you see some sort of separation looming. In some cases, you may also be concerned about that person, as well as whatever path you may be led down if you follow them.
How Lost Dream Symbol May Fit in Your Life
Even though being lost can be frightening, very few things feel as good as reaching your destination. In some cases, once you know why you got lost, you may even be surprised to find that the path you took was actually shorter than the one you were planning on. Surprisingly enough, many times when you get lost, you may also come across some type of knowledge or experience that you will need at some point in life.
When you dream of this particular situation, you should not automatically assume that it has a negative connotation. That said, if you are disorganized, or have to travel to an unusual area, it will not hurt to be a bit extra prepared, as well as look for ways to ensure you do not lose valuable papers or other items. On the other hand, you should also pay careful attention to things that happen while you were lost. Did you meet a friendly person, or someone else that needed help? Were you successful in solving the "mini situation" that you found yourself in? Once you look at the situations, you may find new career paths, new relationships, or even new places to meet friends that will create wonderful new opportunities in your life
A Sample Lost Dream Interpretation
One fine summer evening, you are on vacation with your family and fall asleep by the side of the pool. As you drift off to sleep, you find yourself thinking about how you almost got lost on the way to the hotel. This soon gives way to wondering if you put all of your valuable papers in the bank safe before leaving for the vacation. Soon, you find yourself in the shopping district of a strange city. While you are walking along with your family, you suddenly notice that one of your children is hanging back to look at one of the shop windows. You backtrack a few steps, only to realize that you mistook the person for someone else. Confused, you look ahead to sort out where your spouse and children are.
By this time, the crowd on the streets is fairly large, and you are unable to spot your family. Desperately, you begin moving forward in order to catch up as quickly as possible. Unable to achieve this goal, you suddenly realize that you have your cell phone, and decide to call your spouse. He/she answers immediately, and you let him/her know where you are. Finally, you are reunited with your family, and feel relieved that you were able to solve the situation without further distress.
This particular dream may not have any precognitive meaning. Rather, you can think of this dream as one being caused by current events in your life, as well as all of the changes that go with being on vacation. That said, if you tend to be the kind of person that worries, you may need to address deep seated fears associated with abandonment, or losing your family. Even if your family is very loving, you may want to spend some time doing things on your own, as well as find ways to make sure that your internal landscape is an accurate portrayal of your family life. Aside from giving you an increased sense of security, you may also find that your family life will be even more rewarding than it was before.
And in my recent dreams, after I wander off from being with my husband while on vacation, a winsome, friendly young man (or men) try to help me get back to him. It initially feels fun and safe being with them, and we are enjoying being together, but I eventually find myself not trusting the situation. I finally think of calling my husband but realize that I didn't bring my phone with me when I went out for a walk, and then I feel really lost. I always wake up at that point. I am 70 years old, and my husband is 57, in real life. We love each other, but I have to admit that the age stretch is now hard, from my perspective, and I suspect from his as well, although we actually look to be pretty close in age. The men in my dreams are not sexual interests, but are much younger in age than my husband. They are just lovely helpful people. Is this an old lady looking for a Boy Scout to help her across the street? LOL
