Sometimes, amateur palm readers confuse the life line and the heart line, or confuse the messages that they try to convey. After all, the heart has a certain association culturally that is distinct from the more modern understanding of the heart. As scientists have informed us, the brain is the organ which controls thought, feeling, and emotion as well as just about every level of consciousness that we as humans have the ability to experience. The heart on the other hand, is the organ which controls our life. If a heart stops, for more than a few seconds, or pumps irregularly for even an instant, our body feels pain instantly, and if this behavior doesn't cease, it can lead to a swift death.
Thus, the heart line has taken on somewhat of an incorrect association in more modern times from confused rookies, because they imagine that t has to do with the course of life. While the heart line will tell you about a lot of aspects of your life, it will not tell you your life expectancy or many of those other technical aspects that the life line will. The heart line retains the meaning that the heart used to have culturally, back when more naïve and uneducated humans believed that the heart held the functions of the brain. Despite our knowledge to the contrary, the heart is still seen as somewhat of an emotional control center for the body, and palmistry is no exception to this interpretation. When someone is reading your heart line, the information that they will be giving you once the reading is done will regard your emotional responses and how you handle person to person relationships.
The rules that govern the readings of other lines pretty much apply directly to the reading of the heart line as well. For example, while having a wavering head line will inform you that you have a scatter brained personality, if you have a wavering heart line (which can be located right below the little finger and running towards the index finger) this will mean that you are generally flaky in relationships. If your friends or significant other invite you out on the town, you will be the first person to be hesitant. This does not mean that you automatically ruin everyone else's good time. However, this is an indication that you might be better suited to spending time with people who respond well to hesitation. If a person quickly becomes annoyed with a naysayer, then they might not be the best friend for you.
If the heart line is unusually long, it can mean that you are a fan of commitment in relationships. If the line slopes up dramatically at any point, this can mean that you rush headlong into relationships, possibly before you are really ready. If the line dramatically slopes down, this could mean that you are too quick to cut off important relationships with people.
